A couple weeks ago I was supposed to go to HohnHu with LeLing but we decided not to go at eight am so apparently next bus is at noon. Well it’s 1.5hours there and last bus is at 430 to get back so we opted not to go.
As luck would have it, my gigantic doctor brain recalled Ada saying that the “tallest bridge in the world ” has a park. That park is near the toll entrance of the city. The cab seemed to steep of a price so we haggled three motorcycle taxi till we got the price we wanted.
Yes we rode 3 deep on it. Turns out my roomie and duan did walk it.. .about eight miles round trip.
Motorcycles sure do make you feel free. Anyway we arrive and there is like no one there.
But the entrance is a gigantic lion/dragon head with the tongue and ball.. you know… the classic China statue.
I check the map and we walk up the stairs and a path to a Buddiest temple. Couldn’t take picture of these three enormous shrines but lots of yellow drapes and gold color figures. I learned you bow up and down 3 times and make a wish or a prayer. Oh and you do this on the knellers.
Also they highly encouraged ling to make a money donation, I guess all the fruit and other edible stuff on the alter wasn’t paying the bills. I did get some cute bracelets for my nieces, each different so they must make a choice later.
Next was a two story metal view tower and the bottom was dug out. That made me think of a Roman gladiator arena.
Staid up top and soaked up the view and updated my music play list. Passed by a stagnant pond for frogs and then was able to look out at the tall bridge and the river under it.
Another location that was closer and had great view also had an outdoor theater setup. No show however when we were waking down the road to leave, three six row golf carts loaded with people for a wedding.
Great flowers, great views, great conversation, great day off.
Yay adventure! I would think riding a motorcycle in China would be terrifying! 🙂
