Habit #1: The Habit of Adequate Sleep

Adequate sleep is essential for your body to stay healthy.

Even a battery needs to recharge, otherwise it doesn’t power your stuff.

You’ve got to get your sleep if you expect to be healthy and productive.  Think about a rechargeable battery for a second.  When a rechargeable battery wears out, what happens?

You put them back into the charger so they get their power back.  What happens if you don’t recharge the batteries when they wear down?

They don’t work!

Your body is just like a rechargeable battery.  You have to RECHARGE your body if you want to be able to perform.

Too often we are on overdrive, running ourselves into the ground, under a lot of stress and to make matters worse, we aren’t getting enough sleep to keep up.

If you don’t give your body enough rest and time to recharge, then your body will start to wear down.  Once your body wears down, it doesn’t work correctly.  You won’t be as productive in any area of your life and you could even end up getting sick.

So how much sleep should we get each night?

Studies say 7 to 8 hours a night.  If you are getting less than that, even if you are feeling pretty good, your body is SLOWLY wearing out.

Have trouble sleeping?  Many of my patients report that getting chiropractic care helps them sleep better.  Also, exercising on a regular basis helps.

Your goal: Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night.

Sincerely,
