Coffee Found To Decrease Prostate Cancer

Often times, drinking coffee gets a bad rap. But new research is
showing that drinking coffee might not be so bad after all.

According to new research released from a 12 year study of almost
48,000 participants, the Harvard School of Public Health announced
that those who drank the most coffee have the least risk for
prostate cancer…especially the deadliest forms of the disease.

Men who drank six cups or more of coffee daily had a 60 percent
lower risk of developing lethal prostate cancer, and a 20 percent
lower risk of developing any form of prostate cancer.

The results were the same whether the coffee was regular or
decaffeinated, so the benefit is likely coming from the other
compounds in the coffee that act as antioxidants, which reduce
inflammation and regulate insulin.

The new research studied nearly 50,000 U.S. men who reported their
coffee consumption every four years from 1986 to 2008. It backs up
previous studies that found coffee consumption was associated with
lower risk of a wide range of diseases including Parkinson’s, type
2 diabetes and liver cancer.

Studies like this are showing that having a coffee habit might
actually be good for your health!

There is reason to take notice of this study. Prostate cancer
happens to be the most frequently diagnosed form of cancer and the
second leading cause of cancer death among U.S. men, affecting one
in six men during their lifetime. More than 2 million men in the
U.S. and 16 million men worldwide are prostate cancer survivors.

Some skepticism may still remain, but at the very least the new
coffee study shows that men who enjoy their coffee have nothing to
fear and may get some cancer-fighting benefit.

Have a great day!

Sincerely,

Dr. Justin Trosclair
