
Energy drinks are the craze these days. Go into your grocery store
and you’ll find dozens of different energy drinks available.
The problem is, most of these drinks are nothing but carbonated
beverages full of sugar in the form of high fructose corn syrup and
caffeine. Then you have the low calorie energy drinks that are full
of chemicals and artificial sweeteners. All in all, these
ingredients make most energy drinks pretty unhealthy.
I found a recipe online where you can make your own energy drinks
that are healthy for you and taste great. Here’s what you do to
create your own energy drink:
- Make a big iced tea mixture using green tea, white tea, and
yerba mate tea. Use 2-3 green and/or white tea bags and 2-3 yerba
mate tea bags and make a gallon of iced tea. If you want to add
some fruit flavor to your energy drink, then add 1 tea bag of a
fruit flavored hibiscus tea to the mixture. - Buy a large container of coconut water from a health food store.
- To make your energy drink, mix a half glass of your tea with a
half glass of coconut water.
This is a much better energy drink than the chemical and sugar
laden energy drinks sold in the stores. The teas contain a small
amount of caffeine along with lots of antioxidants and
phytochemicals. The coconut water is rich in electrolytes and has
natural vitamins and minerals in it. Coconut water also contains
healthy fats that are readily used for energy.
