Most people love chocolate. And what’s not to love? There is
really nothing else like it. And depending on what type of
chocolate you eat, it can actually be healthy for you!
We all know that high blood pressure is a health concern that
should never be taken lightly. People develop high blood pressure
as a result of stress, a poor diet, lack of exercise, as well as
overall lifestyle. The bottom line is people don’t take care of
themselves near as well as they should, and high blood pressure is
one of many health problems that develop because of it.
When it comes to lowering blood pressure, there are two ways you
can do it. One is to medicate yourself for the rest of your life
(not a great idea). The other is to change your lifestyle and diet.
Researchers have confirmed that the natural flavanols found in
cacao from chocolate effectively lower blood pressure. The results
from the study published in the Journal of Cardiovascular
Pharmacology explain how the flavanols from cacao and dark
chocolate effectively regulate blood pressure.
Now, while this is great news for us chocolate lovers, this is not
a magic bullet. To effectively lower blood sugar, people will need
to do more than sit around eating chocolate. Lowering blood sugar
requires a lifestyle makeover.
The other thing you need to know is the chocolate that has these
benefits is “dark chocolate” with a high percentage of cacao.
The good news is there are numerous studies on the effects of
chocolate and blood pressure and they are all positive. People
with high blood pressure who eat “the right type” of chocolate have
a good chance of seeing healthy benefits…and without the side
effects that drugs have!
So if you know anyone who has high blood pressure, help them out
and pass this information on to them!
Have a great day,
